DDA housing scheme results by mid-April
The DDA is going to announce the names of successful applicants of its latest housing scheme by mid April. On November 25, Delhi Development Authority (DDA) had launched its biggest housing scheme till date, offering 16,000. The draw of lots for selecting the lucky applicants will take place sometime in mid-April.

Out of all the applicants, those who have been found eligible for the draw of lots number approximately 7.4 lakh.

The name and other details of the eligible candidates will be put on the DDA website www.dda.org.in and the applicants can check if all the details are accurate.

The list will be put up tenta-tively between March 29 to April 4.

"If there are any wrong details in the list, the applicants can get it rectified," said Neemo Dhar, spokesperson  Delhi Development Authority.

"After the corrections are done, a new list will be again announced," she said.

The scheme was kept open from November 25 to December 24 and DDA had said then that the draw will be held within four months after the last day of closure.

Keeping its promise, the authority expects to hold the draw in the second or third week of April.

The flats on offer are located in areas such as Vasant Kunj, Mukherjee Nagar, Motia

Khan, Jasola, Dwarka, Rohini, Narela, Jaffarabad, Kundli and Gharoli.

There is a mix of one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom houses and the prices range from R9 lakh to R1.12 crore.

DDA plans to construct over 20,850 houses in coming years
The Delhi Development Authority is mulling constructing over 20,850 houses and flats in the coming years, mostly in south and north-west Delhi. The housing units are expected to come up in areas like Dwarka, Narela, Jasola and Rohini. Among the planned developments are construction of 316 high-income group (HIG) houses in Rohini Sector 26, 1240 HIG (multi-storeyed) houses in Sector 19-B of Dwarka and 208 HIG (multi-storeyed) houses in Sector 14 of Dwarka, official sources said.

A total of 346 middle-income group housing units in Sector 16-B of Dwarka, 160 MIG houses in Pocket 9-B of Jasola are also on the anvil as well 483 multi-storeyed houses in Sector A-9 of Narela, 352 multi-storeyed houses in Sector 19 of Dwarka and 240 multi-storeyed flats at Bakkarwala.

The housing agency also plans to construct 6340 houses in Narela and 10,860 houses in Rohini Sector 35, other than 50 low-income group flats in Rohini Sector 16. The DDA had launched its latest housing scheme in November last year offering over 16,000 flats. In its last housing scheme in 2008, it had offered 5,020 flats.
